Support for Polish urban areas in preparation of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans

Background

The need to introduce more sustainable mobility planning in Poland is a broad issue, not only connected to meeting the mobility needs of modern urban society but also to the necessity to connect smart mobility planning with the investment process, also within EU programmes.

Goals of the project

1. To provide support to 15 Polish functional urban areas to prepare and implement the concept of SUMPs (Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans) in accordance with the Guidelines of the European Commission
2. To increase the competences of the functional areas in the planning and implementation of investment projects in the field of transport, including with the use of European funds

Main objectives for this Project

• analyse the existing needs of selected functional urban areas
• provide support to SUMPs preparation for selected beneficiaries
• provide recommendations on citizen engagement
• provide recommendations on SUMPs national coordination
• organise events and conferences on different thematic aspects of SUMPs
