We are happy to inform you that the Deliverable no. 2 of the project – Preparation of 15 SUMPs (diagnostic) opening reports for direct beneficiaries – has ended successfully. In Opening reports following criteria were analyzed for all beneficiaries (functional urban areas):

· Quality of existing strategic documents;

· Size and composition/Cooperation within the functional area, and the quality of cooperation;

· The competence of the direct beneficiaries;

· Availability (of required) data;

· The practical challenges; Involvement in the implementation of the project;

· Possibility to develop SUMPs of high quality in time and available means.

12 beneficiaries, which are Biała Podlaska, Gniezno, Iława, Kędzierzyn Koźle, Konin, Krosno, Leszno, Nowy Sącz, Piła, Rybnik, Tarnów, Wałbrzych , will be further supported by the project team with capacity building in the field of SUMPs, assistance in creating SUMPs using the in-house method or tendering SUMPs out to external consultant and providing advice on the organisation of the process of public consultations and activation of stakeholders. These activities will be done within the Deliverable no. 3 of the project.

Beneficiaries: Czwórmiasto, Elbląg i Nowy Targ were selected as 3 direct beneficiaries for which full SUMPs will be prepared in the framework of the project, within the Deliverable no. 4.
